Rooted in Eugenio Barba’s Theatre Anthropology, and developed in collaboration with the former artistic director and founder of the theatre company (Theater ASOU) Abel Solares (Teatro Vivo, Guatemala), Theatre ASOU has worked with a variety of teachers/directors from various backgrounds to realize its own theatrical mode of work as well as exploratory workshops and performance projects.

Since 1998, Klaus has assisted his teacher Phillip B. Zarrilli at workshops as well as Lecture Demonstrations, including “best-off-styria” (Graz, Austria), “London International Workshop Festival“ (London, UK), “Center for Performance Research“ (Aberystwyth, UK), “Grotowski Center“ (Wroclaw, Poland) and “Theatre Training and Research Programm” (Singapore). In 2000 he was awarded permission to teach Kalarippayattu, a South Indian Martial Art, which he uses as a base for his approach to theatre/dance. Since then he has given workshops for LAUT!, for the Theater im Bahnhof as well as leading an ongoing Kalari class in his home-base Graz. He is currently collaborating with ARBOS (based in Salzburg, Austria), a company creating theatre for a hearing and non-hearing audience.
